Essex Roads CC Go-Ride Winter Series 2019 – Rd 1

We are again running our Under 16’s Winter Racing Series at Redbridge Closed Road Circuit on the lower circuit. Events will be held on 20th January, 10th February, 3rd and 31st March 2019

This series is designed to be an entry level event for riders who have little or no experience of racing (and for their parents who have never prepared a young rider for an event before!) We do not carry out gear checks, and although there will be riders wearing ‘proper kit’ and riding road bikes, you do not need any special gear -all you need is for your bike to be in good working condition and safe to ride, and to wear appropriate clothing and a helmet which is also safe. We encourage you to ‘have a go’ and award separate certificates for those riding non-road bikes as we appreciate you have to work a lot harder to get round the track than those who have sleek road machines!

Signing on is from 12.15pm, racing starts prompt at 1.15pm, finishing at about 3pm, with presentations back up at HQ afterwards.

Boys and girls will race together in their age categories (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16) but there will be separate awards. If there are sufficient numbers, there may be separate girls’ / boys’ races.

All riders will be eligible for the series Points Competition (best three results to count).

Pre-entries need to be with me by the Thursday before the race. Entries on-line via BC website:

Hi Dawn, Thanks for your email, there are two races, the first race is bunch start and the 2nd is a handicap race. Both races are 3 x laps, which are approx 1.15km per lap so they are fairly short in distance.

      Hope this helps.

      Best Regards
      Dave
