We are again running our Winter Series at Redbridge Closed Road Circuit on the lower circuit. Events will be held on 7th January, 4th & 25th February and 18th March 2018.

This series is designed to be an entry level event for riders who have little or no experience of racing (and for their parents who have never prepared a young rider for an event before!) We do not carry out gear checks, and although there will be riders wearing ‘proper kit’ and riding road bikes, you do not need any special gear – all you need is for your bike to be in good working condition and safe to ride, and to wear appropriate clothing and a helmet which is also safe. We encourage you to ‘have a go’ and award separate certificates for those riding non-road bikes as we appreciate you have to work a lot harder to get round the track than those who have sleek road machines!

Signing on is from 12.15pm, racing starts prompt at 1.15pm, finishing at about 3pm, with presentations back up at HQ afterwards.

Boys and girls will race together in their age categories (U8, U10, U12, U14, U16) but there will be separate awards. If there are sufficient numbers, there may be separate girls’ / boys’ races.

All riders will be eligible for the series Points Competition (best three results to count).

Pre-entries need to be with me by the Thursday before the race.

Fees;

ERCC Members Full Series; £10.00

Non-Members Full Series; £18.00

ERCC Members Single Race Pre-entry; £3.00

Non-Members Single Race Pre-entry; £5.00

ERCC Members on the day entry; £3.50

Non-Members on the day entry; £5.50

Cheques payable to “Essex Roads CC” to be sent with a completed entry form to;

Mr David Brown

    Hi David,

    My son is keen to have a go at the next winter series on the 18th. Is there an entry form on the club site or is it as easy to do an on the day entry? We will be coming from Oxford so would appreciate knowing before hand!
    Many thanks

      Hi Steve,

      Thanks for your email, we are unfortunately going to have to cancel and postpone to next Sunday 25th March. I’ve just been speaking to the team and not sure how the weather is where you are but the snow is settling on the roads now over in this part of Essex and it’s got to continue throughout the night so the situation is sadly not going to improve!

      At least on the plus side you can have a lie in now 🙂

      Hope to see you Sunday 25th March.

        Hello

        Just checking the date – is this on Sunday 25th March?

        I have looked on Redbridge Cycling Centre website and this appears to be listed as Sunday April 8th

    Hello David.
    My son took part in the go-ride today (Sunday 25th March), and at the end I inadvertantly took home the race number (67, FYI).
    Should I post it back to you at the address on this web page? Or would it be better for me to send it to a different address?
    Thank you,
    Robert.
