Meeting at the The Hub Cafe, Hadleigh MTB Park our start time is 10am and we aim to finish at 12 noon. The ride out is all off-road (MTB or cyclo-cross bikes required) over to Bowers Marsh which has some great routes around the RSPB park. They’ve invested heavily in this area and have a good range of decent trails for bikes, horses and walkers and some interesting history too, from medieval salt marshes to farmland, Saxon / Viking battles up to the more recent times of WW1 & WW2 military history and not forgetting St. Margaret’s church which is still said to be haunted!! Whilst we are at the church we can visit the two Commonwealth war graves of James North – 1st Class Stoker – Royal Navy and Captain Kenneth Boss M.C. – 2nd Airbourne Division Royal Artillery and being just a week after remembrance Sunday we can place a poppy cross at each of the graves and talk about their huge sacrifice for our freedom. It’ll be a fun filled few hours as well as a time to reflect on the cost of the Great war and WW2.
Feel free to join us, although it’s titled u16, adults are welcome to join us too.
