John Kidd (together with Mike Stagg & Justin Polley) attended a 4-day training camp in Puerto Pollensa, Majorca back in April 2017. The camp was run by Viva Velo (who some of you may have seen at the Excel ahead of the Pru 100 in recent years). John and the guys were so impressed that they have decided to return in March 2018. John has secured 12 places for 22-26 March 2018 however, whilst places on the training camp are likely to still be available, these places can only be guaranteed up until the end of October 2017.
Check out Viva Velo’s website here: www.vivavelo.uk/ and address all enquiries directly to the owner of Viva Velo, Dyll Davies (details on website). The camp offers some truly stunning guided rides and some amazing iconic climbs through the Tramuntana mountains, including Sa Calobra & Puig Major. Ride leader to rider ratios are excellent at 1:6 and getting an ERCC group together means that we can pretty much dictate our own itinerary. Viva Velo are currently offering a £100 per person early booking discount which means that a 4-day/night camp with half-board 4-star hotel and transfers is only £355 (for 22-26 March). Flights, lunch and bike hire (if you need it) are not included, but bike hire can be arranged by Viva Velo (approx. £20 per day for full Ultegra road bikes).
Daily rides are usually 70-90 miles long with a good break for lunch, however there is always a shorter ‘café ride’ option for those who don’t want to go quite so far. Groups are also split by preferred riding speed, meaning that average speeds from 14-15mph to 20mph+ are accommodated.
Please let John Kidd know if you are interested in going by messaging him at email@example.com.
