The passing of Graham Hart

It is with great sadness that Essex Roads CC announces the passing of Graham Hart on Sunday 25th April 2021 at St. Lukes Hospice with his family by his side. He will be remembered for his invaluable contribution to the Club over many decades where he acted as our dedicated Head Coach. He is responsible for the adoption of both Go Ride and Club Mark and organised a considerable number of events for children and adults including cyclo-cross, turbo training and assisting with Orchidcycle Essex. He also enjoyed time trialling. He is responsible for so many people of all ages starting in cycling. He was kind, approachable and caring to all those he met. His legacy will continue.

Graham leaves his wife and daughter – whose marriage he attended last year.

My memory of Graham is of him taking the turbo training sessions at the scout hut on Greens Farm Lane (well before the invention of Zwift). The structure to my training he gave me was amazing and I remember him walking amongst us looking at our stats and being really interested with our progress. The proceeding season was the best I have ever had and I thank him for that. Rest in peace Graham.
